Have you been looking for a female dentist here in Windsor? You’re in luck. Our staff here at Ouellette Dentistry happens to include two excellent female dentists: Dr. Hanna Chang and Dr. Jasmin Ku. Let’s talk about why you might want to see a female dentist and what our own two women dentists bring to the table.
Why a Female Dentist?
You might prefer a female dentist because:
- You’ve had bad experiences with male ones
- You find female voices more calming
- You feel more comfortable discussing health matters with women
- If you have a family, you think your children will feel more comfortable with a female dentist
- You just think female dentists are cool
No matter what your reasons are, there’s nothing wrong with choosing a female dentist over a male one. It’s just your preference, and you deserve to have it respected.
Dr. Hanna Chang
Dr. Hanna Chang attended the University of Windsor in her undergrad days and obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at London’s Western University. She excelled there and served as class valedictorian at graduation.
Dr. Chang (or Dr. Hanna, as some patients call her) loves teaching patients about their oral health and how they can protect it. Dozens of our 5-star reviews mention her by name, calling her a “compassionate and very skilled dentist” who is “incredibly kind and down-to-earth” and “explains things clearly.” They also say she’s great with kids – even ones who usually hate dental appointments.
Dr. Jasmin Ku
Dr. Jasmin Yu-hsin Ku (she goes by Dr. Jasmin at the office) spent her early life here in Windsor before spending some time across the border to earn DDS from New York University. Now that she’s back, she’s putting her new skills serving the community she grew up in.
Patients who left reviews described her as “very professional,” saying she provides “excellent care” and “makes you feel like family.” Did we mention she speaks both English and Mandarin? If you’d prefer to communicate in Mandarin during your office visits, she’d be happy to oblige.

If you’ve been on the hunt for a new dentist for your kids, you’ve probably noticed that some dental offices proudly proclaim that they’re “kids-only” practices. Many parents assume that their youngsters will get better care at these places, but is that really true? Today, we’ll talk about why dentists choose to label themselves this way and why the designation may not mean as much as you’d expect.
